Faculty Member Emine Dilek ÖZYILMAZ Presented her Work at an International Symposium

EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Senior Instructer Emine Dilek ÖZYILMAZ has presented her speech entitled “Assessment of the pharmaceutical properties of metformin hydrochloride tablets belonging to different pharmaceutical companies" in International Symposium of Scientific Research and Innovative Studies. In this study, in vitro quality control tests of metformin tablets (500 mg) produced by different pharmaceutical companies, which are commonly used in the pharmaceutical market, especially in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, were aimed to be evaluated in terms of public health. According to statistical evaluation of results; although the two market tablets examined fully comply with the criteria set by the American Pharmacopoeia, only tablets containing metformin belonging to one company were not found suitable in terms of the amount of active substance. In the presentation, it was emphasized that the QbD approach should be adopted by the manufacturers during production in order to increase compliance with the standards.
