EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Events for 10th International Career Days

A comprehensive organization was hosted by EMU Faculty of Pharmacy as part of the 10th International Career Days event, which is coordinated annually by the Eastern Mediterranean University Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate (EMU-MIKA).

Valuable academicians from Cyprus and abroad were the guests of the organization. The event begun with Prof. Dr. K. Hüsnü Can Başer speech about “Perfume and Its Raw Materials". The event continued with a speech by Pharm.D Chinelo Uddoh, a former graduate of Faculty of Pharmacy, who continues her career in Canada today, entitled “The Versatility of Pharmacy". Afterwards, Pharm.D Danial Mehranfard who is currently working as a researcher at Longeveron Pharmaceutical Company (USA), gave his speech regarding “A Carrier Road to the Research and Pharmaceutical Industry". Our graduates emphasized that the education they received at the Faculty of Pharmacy of EMU had a great contribution to their success today.

Special attraction got the third day program with the speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arijana Meštrović about “The Competencies of The Pharmacist in the 21st century" and workshop about ''Lifelong Learning''.  

As the program continued Asst. Prof. Dr. Zeynep İşlek Köklü talked about the "Applications of Biotechnology in Medicine".  After that,  guests from pharmaceutics field as Pharm. Serkan Aykut Adalmaz and Dr. Sedat Gülay with their presentations share their career paths with pharmacy students.

On the same day, the program continued with a speech by the owner of the ''Aydin Life'' Pharmacy and the representative of the Turkish Cypriot Pharmacists Association, Pharmacist Hatice Özalp on the drug policy in TRNC and the challenges faced by the pharmacists. The organizations last speech was done by Dr. Hasan Ersin Zeytin, Director of Project and New Product Evaluation of Nobel pharmaceutical industry on" The Importance of Biotechnology in The Development of the Corona Virus Vaccine". At the end of the event, the dean of the faculty Prof. Dr. Mübberra Koşar presented the guests with their plaques.
