EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes White Coat Ceremony

On the occasion of 25 September, World Pharmacist Day, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Pharmacy, organized a White Coat Ceremony for students who will receive training at the faculty during the 2025-2026 academic year fall semester. During the ceremony held at 10:00 a.m. at the Green Hall in the EMU Faculty of Pharmacy, the students took their first steps towards their professional education journey by wearing the symbol of the pharmacy profession, the white coat. 

The ceremony was attended by EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, Board of Trustees Member Halil İbrahim Orun, Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Hayrettin Ozan Gülcan, Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç, faculty members, students, and their families.

Following the A Minute of Silence and National Anthem, the ceremony continued with the opening speeches. Providing information on 25 September, World Pharmacist Day, EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Hayrettin Ozan Gülcan welcomed everyone attending the event. Prof. Gülcan emphasized that the profession of pharmacy constitutes both the initial point of contact and the final component within the healthcare system, underscoring its recognition as one of the most esteemed and sacred professions globally.

Following the speeches, the opening lecture was held with a presentation by EMU Faculty of Communication Dean, Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy.
