Student Workshop 2026 was Held at EMU Faculty of Pharmacy

The “Student Workshop 2026," organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), was held in the EMU Faculty of Pharmacy meeting hall. The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association and the EMU Strategy and Project Development Office, was coordinated and moderated by Dr. Jülide Erdal Üngör. In addition to EMU Faculty of Pharmacy faculty members and students, participants also included representatives from the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association management and community and hospital pharmacists.

The workshop aimed to create a strong communication and collaboration environment between academic education and professional practice. It also sought to improve the internship processes for students at the EMU Faculty of Pharmacy and to identify solutions to the problems encountered during these processes.

Prof. Dr. H. Ozan Gülcan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), in his speech at the event, thanked all participants, especially the President of the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Pharmacist Duygu Adahan Kuran, and emphasized the great importance of the opinions of internal and external stakeholders in the creation of the student workshop. Prof. Dr. Gülcan stated that this event would make significant contributions to the development of the faculty's academic structure and would pave the way for important steps towards the future of the pharmacy profession. He also noted that the opinions and suggestions obtained from the workshop would be evaluated and the necessary steps would be taken to make the internship processes more effective and efficient.

Prof. Dr. Gülcan emphasized that this study is the first of its kind and stated that, in line with the plan, different topics related to education and practice will be addressed in student workshops that will be held regularly every year.

Duygu Adahan Kuran, President of the Turkish Cypriot Pharmacists Association, who participated in the workshop, expressed her satisfaction with being involved in such a study and stated that she believes the workshop results will yield important outcomes for the pharmacy profession, both in education and practice.

 

At the certificate ceremony held at the end of the workshop, all participants were thanked and presented with their certificates.
