Prevents Infectious Diseases

EMU Faculty of Pharmacy released a statement on hand hygiene which reads as follows:

“Hand hygiene is ensured by cleaning (rubbing) hands with alcohol-based antiseptic products or washing hands with soap. In order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases among individuals, we need to have clean hands. If you are planning to clean your hands with antiseptic products, you need to rub hands with the said products for at least 20-30 seconds. If you are using soap for this purpose, this period should be between 40 and 60 seconds. We must pay attention to touching every part of the hand during the application of these methods. Hand hygiene is the simplest, least expensive and most effective strategy used for the prevention of infections and limiting the transmission of microorganisms from person to person or from one surface to another. During the upcoming years, we plan to raise awareness among the students of EMU regarding the importance of hand hygiene.
