PRECAUTIVE MEASURES IMPLEMENTED IN E.M.U. AGAINST COVID-19

Due to the increase in the number of countries where COVID-19 has been detected, Eastern Mediterranean University has activated “COVID-19 Awareness Committee” in order to help protect all of its students and staff in case the infection reaches to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

By 2nd of March 2020, no case has been detected in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. E.M.U. “COVID-19 Awareness Committee” is closely following the recommendations of World Health Organization and in direct contact with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ministry of Health related to the protection against COVID-19.

  • Hand rubbing facilities, one of the most important ways of preventing and controlling infectious diseases including COVID-19, have been distributed across the campus.

  • Disinfection of the shared areas (offices, lecture halls, laboratories, university busses etc.) has intensely been implemented all around the campus on a regular basis.

  • Educational activities have been planned for the students and staff.

  • Educative brochures are being prepared for public places to raise the awareness and knowledge for the prevention from COVID-19.

  • Health center has been provided the probable case definitions described by Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ministry of Health and is well equipped for the detection of probable cases.
