Disinfection from EMU against coronavirus

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is carrying out a comprehensive disinfection procedure against Covid-19, commonly known as Coronavirus. Due to an increase in the number of countries where Covid-19 has now been detected, adding on to the existing precautions already taken prior to the virus being detected in our country and now the virus being detected in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the Rector’s Office established “COVID-19 Awareness Committee” continues to work effectively and intensely in an effort to protect all EMU students and staff. Accordingly, a comprehensive disinfection process has been initiated by the EMU Emergency Cleaning and Disinfection Team consisting of the EMU Cleaning Affairs Branch personnel, all of whom received Occupational Health and Safety training.
It will Take Three Days in Total
As part of the disinfection process, all classrooms, library, health center, private and EMU dormitories, dining halls and public transportation vehicles on the campus will be cleaned with special materials. The disinfection process, which will take three days in total, began on Wednesday, 11th March 2020, at the Prof. Dr. Özay Oral Library and the Health Center. The disinfection process that is being carried out upon the advice of the EMU Rector’s Office established COVID-19 Awareness Committee will continue in line with the determined program. According to the program, on Thursday, March 12th, 2020, buses and minibusses belonging to Transportation Affairs, Central Lecture Hall Classrooms, Dormitories and Lala Mustafa Pasha Sports Hall will be disinfected, and on Friday, March 13th, 2020, all faculties will be disinfected. Comprehensive disinfection procedures were started on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 upon the suspension of educational activities by the Council of Ministers until Monday, March 16, 2020.
