Faculty Member Assist. Prof. Dr. E. Vildan Burgaz and her Thesis Students Presented their Work at an International Congress

A study conducted by Assist.Prof. Dr. E. Vildan BURGAZ and her Pharm D. Thesis students MAhya Tanya and Seyed Armin Houshmand Kia was presented by Mahya Tanya as an oral presentation in an international congress "1. INTERNATIONAL DICLE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND INNOVATION CONGRESS 27-28 November 2021" . The topic is "SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NOVEL (1E,4E)-1,5-DI(THIOPHEN-2-YL) PENTA-1,4-DIEN-3-ONE O-BENZOYL OXIME".

In this study, novel compound, "1,5-di(thiophen-2-yl) penta-1,4-dien-3-one O-benzoyl oxime" has been synthesised and Infrared, Proton Nuclear Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), Carbon NMR, and Mass Spectroscopy were used to determine the structure of this new compound. Preliminary research on the biological activity of this new compound indicates that it has antifungal and antibacterial activity. Also, based on the literature, previous studies of our group, and ongoing experiments on the compound's anticancer efficacy.
