EMU CHESS TEAM CAPTAIN, FACULTY OF PHARMACY STUDENT SALİH UCUCU BECOMES THE WORLD UNIVERSITY CHAMPION

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Chess Team competed in the “Kasparov Chess Foundation University Cup – Kasparov Chess Foundation Universities Cup”, which was held for the second time this year. The world intercollegiate chess championship, in which a total of 149 universities and 691 athletes participated, was held online on February 5-6, 2022.

EMU Sports Affairs Directorate Chess Head Coach Talat Şentürk, Team Captain and also the President of EMU Beşiktaş Club, 4th Year Student of the Faculty of Pharmacy Salih Uçucu, Engineering Faculty Computer Engineering Department 1st Year Student Ata Atasoy, Business and Economics Faculty Marketing Department 1st Year Student Krill Konovalov and Faculty of Pharmacy 1st year Student İbrahim Seratlı those are group member of EMU Chess teams and that team ranked 41st in this tournament, while Team Captain Salih Uçucu, achieved great success in the individual category and won 9 of the 9 matches he played. He also won and became the World Universities Champion.
