The Faculty of Pharmacy at Eastern Mediterranean University Organized an Event to Celebrate Pharmacy Day on May 14th.

The "May 14th Pharmacy Day" event, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), was held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Green Hall.

Organized to highlight the importance of the pharmacy profession and bring students and academics together, the event attracted great interest with its all-day program.

The event featured Taner Ercanlı, Secretary General of the Turkish Pharmacists Association, as a speaker, and the faculty's 15th anniversary was celebrated with various activities. To celebrate the faculty's 15th anniversary, a cake cutting ceremony was held with the participation of DAÜ Rector Hasan Kılıç and Faculty Dean H. Ozan Gülcan.

Referring to the significance of the day, Prof. Dr. Gülcan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at EMU, emphasized the critical role of the pharmacy profession within the healthcare system. Stating that the organization was meticulously prepared, Gülcan noted that May 14th marks the 187th anniversary of Scientific Pharmacy, adding that this date has been accepted as the beginning of scientific pharmacy in Turkey since 1839.

The event was attended by EMU Rector Hasan Kılıç, EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean H. Ozan Gülcan, Turkish Pharmacists Association General Secretary Taner Ercanlı, as well as academic and administrative staff and students.
