As part of the May 14th Scientific Pharmacy Day event organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), an interview was conducted with the Secretary General of the Turkish Pharmacists Association, Specialist Pharmacist Taner Ercan.

Speaking at the event, the Secretary General of the Turkish Pharmacists Association, Specialist Pharmacist Taner Ercanlı, drew attention to the critical role of the pharmacy profession in protecting public health. Stating that pharmacy education and professional practices are rapidly transforming in a globalized world, Ercanlı noted that fields such as artificial intelligence, digital health technologies, and clinical pharmacy are shaping the future of the profession. Emphasizing that expanding employment opportunities in pharmacy is an inevitable necessity, Ercanlı underlined that a strong health system, effective primary healthcare delivery, and increased drug production efficiency are only possible with pharmacists. In his speech, Ercanlı mentioned that the solidarity between academia and the professional organization is crucial for professional development, and stated that the Turkish Pharmacists Association will continue to stand by and support young colleagues.

The program, which attracted great interest from the students, concluded with a question-and-answer session on professional topics.
