The graduates of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Pharmacy for the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year took their first steps into the profession with a swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony, held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Palace, began with the graduates entering the ceremony area to the sound of applause.
The ceremony was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Famagusta, Işıl Gürler, the Rector of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, EMU Board of Trustees Member Recai Ergün, EMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe and Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren, EMU Secretary General Derviş Ekşici, the Head of the Famagusta Region of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Civil Defence Organization, Hasan Boltaşlı, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. H. Ozan Gülcan, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç, the Dean of the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Güzoğlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Assoc. Dr. Işıl Ö. Kalyoncu, as well as vice deans and department heads.
As part of the program, a musical performance was given by Music Teaching Program students Deniz Özkalay and Kubilay Patoğlu, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Atakan Sarı, a faculty member of the Fine Arts Education Department at the Faculty of Education of EMU.
Following this, Şeyma Badı, the top student in the Pharmacy Master's Program, and Seyedehmahnaz Hosseini, the top student in the Pharmacy Doctoral Program, gave speeches on behalf of the graduates.


Prof. Dr. H. Ozan Gülcan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), emphasized that the ceremony coinciding with the faculty's 15th anniversary held special significance. He stated that the oath to be taken constituted a strong commitment to honesty, professionalism, and ethical values. Prof. Dr. Gülcan noted that lifelong learning and commitment to scientific development are of great importance in professional life. In conclusion, Prof. Dr. Gülcan congratulated the graduates and their families and wished them continued success.

DAU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç expressed his pleasure at being together with the graduates at the ceremony, emphasizing that the students, who successfully completed a long and intensive education process, were not only graduating today but also undertaking the responsibility of serving human health. At the end of his speech, Dr. Kılıç congratulated the graduates, their families, and the academic staff who contributed to their education, wishing them continued success.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of oath documents to the students and the graduates reading their oaths.
